Cool looking car! It's yellow and I love it so I thought I'd take a snap for MYM. Hope everyone had a terrific weekend. Happy Mellow Yellow Monday!

Eke More Life

Ooops, you forgot to charge your iPod and you noticed that your MP3 player's battery is running low, there's nowhere else to charge the battery but home. To keep the music playing until you reach home, don't use those "back" and "next" buttons. Searching through songs from ipods low on batteries require them to access its hard drive more frequently, eating up a lot of power, which drains the battery. Use the shuffle feature instead ir create your own playlist and stick with it. The trick will double the tune-playing time.

Colon Cleansing

Did you know that colon cancer is the world's third most common form of cancer? And based on the record, it is the second leading cause of deaths in the world. Alarming isn't it? While having a healthy diet is one of the best ways to lower your risk of developing colon cancer, a colon cleanse once or twice a year will help too. I have been doing some readings about Colonix reviews. I've heard it's one of the most effective in removing toxins and bacteria from the colon to make it function properly. When I tried searching the web for a colon cleanser, I never realized that there are so many of them. For me, it pays to read reviews because they were based from personal experiences.

Too Much Flouride

We all know that flouride strengthens teeth and prevents decay, but for your toddler.... it's best to hold it. Too much of it, even if it is good can be bad for them. Most 1 year olds can't resist swallowing toothpaste, and ingesting large amounts of it can lead to flourosis, a condition that causes defects in the enamel - including discoloration and uneven surfaces - of permanent teeth and leaves them more vulnerable to cavities.

Your kid won't be ready for flouride toothpaste until age 2 or 3, when she learns to stop swallowing it. Meanwhile, she can get flouride from other sources like your drinking water, or ask your dentist whether she needs to take a supplement.

How about RV Camping?

In these hard times, money may be tights but you don't have to deprive your loved ones of your yearly summer vacation. You can still go and have fun without really spending much. There is a long list of things you can do this summer that are easy on your pocket, and one of them is rv camping. Without much fuzz, you can easily leave for a quiet escape from the city to the thrill and excitement of every imaginable camping adventure. An rv can help you do just anything and go just about anywhere.

I Love MY "D"

Getting plenty of vitamin D not only strengthens your bones. You may not know it but the vitamin continues to surprise you with body-wide health benefits. Your doc may recommend you take at least 1000 IU of vitamin D per day, here's why...

BRAIN - Cuts stroke risk; may help prevent depression
EYES - Lowers risk of macular degeneration
MOUTH - Decreases risk of gum disease
HEART - Lowers chances of cardiovascular disease
LUNGS - May reduce lung cancer risk
BREAST - Cuts chances of breast cancer
BACK - Lessens likelihood of chronic pain
LEGS - Fights age-related weaknesses
CALVES - Lowers risk of blocked leg arteries

Multiple studies are still being done on what other health benefits we can get from D, but the above-listed benefits are already enough reasons to get plenty of it.

I want a patio!

One of the things I don't like about living in a condominium is not having my own garden and patio. If hubs and I had the money, we could have bought a house and lot where we can have a little garden and grow our own veggies and some fruit-bearing trees. It would be lovely to dine outdoors during summer days, enjoy barbeque parties with friends and family or just simply lounge outside the house. I've seen some nice patio furniture on the internet, I drooled and said to myself, "That would be perfect for my patio!" But I'm not losing hope, I know hubs and I will get our dream. It may not be the right time yet, but someday we'll have our dream house.

Protein for Queasiness

While it's true that ginger is the best answer for nausea, researchers recently discovered that protein can help fight queasiness too. Here's why: when you're queasy, the stomach muscles contract more often and more erratically, protein helps restore the normal slower, steadier rythm. You may simply eat lean protein-rich food like skinless chicken breast or make your own shake with protein powder. Experts say, the drink is a better choice because liquid gives you an immediate effect, but any protein is going to be more helpful than high-fat food or worse, eating nothing at all.

Among the hundreds of species of roses we have, these are my favorite. I believe they are called Paper Roses. I'm not really good at naming flowers but I'm sure about this one. Happy MYM to all.

Smooth on Olive Oil

This Italian kitchen staple has anti-inflammatory properties that don't just benefit you on the inside, but they soften your skin as well. When applied on skin, olive oil gives you smoother and more radiant skin. And consuming it provides antioxidants to disarm free radicals and reduce inflammation. Note that, inflammation is not just linked to diseases, it is also a major cause of wrinkling and sagging in the skin. Aside from adding it in your diet, you may apply it as a lip gloss and as a skin soother. Dab a pea-size amount of oil to hydrate lips, or use it on rough patches, like your elbows, knees and heels, as needed.

For snacks, try this: put a few drops of extra-virgin olive oil into a small bowl, and dip whole-grain bread in it to improve your skin from inside out.

Dusk

I took this shot yesterday at about 6:45 pm. I was fascinated by the green and aqua blue colors of the sky.

Hope everyone of you have a terrific weekend. We're having a long weekend here but we have not planned anything. I still have tons of things to do and I have not finished shopping for school supplies. Hopefully I'll be able to finish them this weekend. :)

Need To Lose

Lately, I have been struggling to kneel down whenever I reach something from the lowest level of my cabinet. I blame it on the extra pounds I gained during summer. I had to find a way to get rid of them and dieting isn't just cutting in. I know I should exercise more but I just don't have the time for it and most of you won't advise taking diet pills, however, I'd like to give it a try. My friend says it really worked for her and it's safe because it was recommended by her doc. Well, I think this is it.

Get The Kick From Cayenne

Always battling with the 4 pm slump? Beat it with a snack loaded with protein, nutrients and flavor, like a taco. Sprinkle cayenne pepper and a pinch of dried red pepper, this will give your snack a fiery kick that will wake you up. The capsaicin, a compound which gives cayenne pepper its spicy heat, activates neurons in the brain to boost secretion of the energizing hormone adrenaline.

One Stop Shop

Mai and I are on a hunt for wholesale clothing. Her school starts in two weeks and we have not done any shopping yet. A friend is recommending Liquidation so I asked Mai to check it out. I think she found some cute blouses and lots of nice designer jeans. I also asked her to check the shoes and bags so we could get all the stuff she needs all in one place. It's such a hassle when you have to shop from different sites.

The Green Soybeans

Edamame
, ever heard of it? Maybe not, but I'm sure you've seen or tasted it. These are Japanese soybeans that are very nutritious and the name is pronounced Ay-dah-mah-may. They are packed with protein, vitamin A, and iron. Some researchers recently discovered a naturally occuring fat in these green soybeans, that can fight wrinkles caused by sun damage and natural aging. This naturally occuring fat stimulates the production of new collagen, a protein that keeps skin strong and supple. Although researchers still have to figure out exactly how much of these soybeans you would need to fight wrinkles, there's no reason to cut back. Edamame has a lot of fiber and vitamin C.

The Versatile Mini

My son took this shot using his PSP camera when he and his dad went to see a car show a few weeks ago. This is but one of the many versions of the mini cooper. If the big trucks have big foot, this one is the small foot. Isn't it cute? Happy MYM everyone!

Top Droppers - May

It's once again time to show appreciation to friends who stopped by the most for the month of May. I'd also like to thank everyone who visited, left comments and dropped their cards but did not make it to the top ten. Thanks to all of you, your support is very much appreciated.
