Chives' unique flavonoids can help protect your heart.   The herb is full or powerful antioxidants that work to protect heart against the damaging effects of bad cholesterol or LDL. 

For a yummy way to reap the rewards; drizzle chive oil to chicken, fish or vegetable dishes and soups. To make the oil: In a blender, puree 1 bunch of chives and 1/2 cup of olive oil; add salt. Store it in the fridge for up to five days.

Another health tidbit, thanks for sharing! Yes, I believe in the health benefits of chives for lowering of cholesterol and for hypertension as well. It's quite so effective that it was one of those herbal remedies I used for maintenance in 2005.
