Do It With Short Bursts

Don't have the time to workout?   You can still do it with short bursts and lose weight even if you are too busy.  I recently read that the short bursts of ten or five minutes is equivalent to an hour's workout.  You will lose more  if you do the bursts three to four times daily.

You don't even have to run to the gym to do this.  The staircase is a good venue.  Try running up the stairs and walking down for five minutes.  It may sound easy but actually it's not.  I am already huffing and puffing on the third minute.  I'm slowly working my way to five minutes.

If the staircase is too much for you, a needak rebounder could work well. It's like a mini trampoline where you can do some jumping exercises.  Five minutes in the rebounder not only helps you lose weight -- your muscles and bones become stronger; it's great for your heart and arthritis; it increases metabolism; gives you more energy; fights depression and stress, makes you look and feel younger and strengthen your spine.

Losing weight is not as hard as you think.  Your five minutes can do so much to your body and if you  couple it some with dietary changes, you'll achieve your desired weight without making too much changes on your busy schedule.

Mellow Yellow Monday #112

We had dinner at Teriyaki Boy the other day.  It was still a little early to have dinner so there weren't a lot of people in the restaurant yet.  This is one of our favorite Japanese restaurants.. the food is good and very affordable.  Hubs ordered for Beef Gyudon while I had the Chicken Teriyaki.

Photohunt - Looking Down

Looking down from the plane as it took off to California.  My sister took these photos when she visited her BFF.
Hope you all had a wonderful week.  Happy hunting!

Never Re-Roof Again with Metal Roofing Calgary

Who would have thought that the roof on that beautiful house is made of metal?  A lot of people are switching to metal roofing Calgary because of it's many advantages.  A metal roof is not only durable but, very tough and long lasting as well.  In fact, you don't even have to re-roof again because it can survive all types of weather conditions.  Not even hail damage can bring it down.  Plus, the color never fades there's no need to repaint unless you want to change colors.  Insurance rates are also lower for homes with metal roofing so you don't only save on maintenance but with insurance as well.  Switch to metal roof if it's quality, design and savings you're after.

Seeing Charleston Homes Soon

When my cousin started out in South Carolina, she lived in a small apartment that she shared with her husband.  She was only starting out as a nurse and her husband, a nurse aid.  Both did well with their chosen careers and after only a couple of years of working hard at the hospital, the couple sought the help of a licensed realtor from Charleston Homes.  They moved to their beautiful home a month before she gave birth to their first born.
I've seen it only in pictures and I've gotten a lot of invites from the couple to visit them.  This year, my family and I have plans of going there.  I'm excited that I'd finally get to see their beautiful nest.

Did You Know?

Consuming flaxseed boosts brain function and heightens memory.  The credit goes to the seed's abundant supply of linoleic acid that keeps the myelin sheaths, fatty acids that surround brain cell lubricated.  That is vital to maximize the brain's ability to send messages, leading to sharpened memory and improved motor skills.

The Scentsy Indulgence

Did you know that aroma therapy not only enhances your mood and makes you feel relaxed?  Yup, aroma therapy does much more than that.  Juggling work; kids; household chores; taking care of the family; and doing the budget can leave you feeling stressed at the end of the day.  Our levels of resistance drop when we are under stress, making us vulnerable to diseases and illnesses.
It is also used as an alternative health treatment and although it does not cure the disease it helps a lot in alleviating pain and other discomforts a patient feels. What's more? It boosts our immune, respiratory and circulatory systems so we have a stronger defense against illnesses.
Aroma therapy is not just about scents and oils, you can indulge in the therapy using Scentsy's wonderful scents.  These are specially formulated waxes in different scents that you put in a warmer powered by a  low-watt bulb to melt the wax slowly. The unique warmer is safer to use because there is no flame, soot or wick.  You can even mix a combination of scents and may your own bricks.

Indulging in a Scenty aroma therapy can boost your mood instantly, soothe your tensed nerves and strengthen your immunity.   Lavender, Chamomile, Ylang-ylang, Neroli, Basil, Geranium, Juniper and Cypress are the scents to try if you are under stress.  Simply put any or a mix of the scents mentioned on the warmer and your off to a soothing and relaxing evening.

Be My Own Host

I'm contemplating on hosting my own site. But, I really do not have an idea of how to go about it. I've asked friends who their providers were or how do I register my domain name. I also wanted to find out which web sitehosting company is the most reliable or the cheapest. To be honest, the replies I received got me more confused. I had to find the answers fast without getting a stirring headache. I turned to the trusty internet to find the answers.

I found a web hosting site that answered all my queries. They provided me with the information on every aspect of hosting my own site. They also supplied me with webhosting news and a directory of where to get the most reliable web hosts. What is great about the site is that they provide you with the ratings and affordability of every web host. With all these information, I can now host my own site. What I thought was a daunting task was actually easier than I expected. Now I can broaden my horizon.

Keep Back Pain At Bay

Surprisingly, the leading cause of back pain is not heavy lifting, it's frequent long car trips.  People unconsciously tend to sit in a slumped position that flattens the natural curvature of the spine and puts pressure on the spinal column.  Plus, every bump in the road sends shock waves through already strained disks.

The quick save?  Tilt your rear view mirror upward just enough so you can't use it without sitting straight and tall. Adjust the seat as well so your knees and arms are relaxed and slightly bent.  This trick will minimize muscle strain that can contribute to spinal misalignment.

Clearpores Scam

If you're battling with breakouts, then you have probably heard or used Clearpores.  Unlike other top rated acne creams, this one comes with a bottle of pills.  Manufacturers of Clearpores claim the pill works from the inside, while the cream takes care of the job from the outside. But don't be fooled with the attractive package and its claims. I have read an article about clearpores scam.  It didn't help solve acne problems and some people claim the condition of their skin only worsened.  Worst of all, they didn't get a refund when they returned the product within the trial period.  Please make sure you research on the product first before slathering it on your skin.

It Might Work

It's not a pill and not even a drink, could this be the one for me?  I'm seeing a lot of positive sensa reviews.  Apparently, this unique diet supplement that is in powder form, is sprinkled on food and works to curb hunger.  People who have tried it say,  it does not even affect the taste of the food.  When consumed, you'll feel less hungry. I've been unsuccessful with my past diet plans and exercise is not helping me.  I'd like to try it and see if it's going to work for me.

Fast Relief For Cough

Suffering from a stubborn cough?  If your cough syrup can't help ease your nagging cough, try sprinkling chopped rosemary on your next meal, or steeping rosemary sprigs in a cup of tea.  The eucalyptol in the herbs thins cough-inducing chest phlegm, making it easier to expel.  Plus, rosemary's tannins exhibit an anti-inflammatory action that will soothe a scratchy throat in seconds.

Back to School

I don't know what changed his mind, but we're really glad my nephew has decided to finish his studies.  The whole family has been convincing him for the past three years, to finish his course, but he said he'd rather work.  His dad even tried to bribe him with a new car.  Well,  sometimes you just can't push a person to do something he really doesn't like to do, but once he sets his mind on it, no one can stop him.  We only knew of his plan when a mail arrived from the online university where he made an enquiry.  He chose an online university so he can still work while studying.  Good luck sweetheart.  Anything I can do to help, don't hesitate to ask.

Photohunt - Missing/Missed

Missing my sister so much. Last time she went home was 5 years ago.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone and happy hunting!

Reaching Out To Your Clients

One of the easiest and cheapest ways to reach out to your clients is to hand out business cards. Many business men take business card printing for granted. It should have been well-thought of before handing them out to clients, customers and prospective clients. They don't realize that the card represents you and your business. With an impressive card, the customers may perceive you you as responsible and reliable. Someone who's willing to take the extra step to deliver better service.

Your business card should make a good first impression because it will be the item that clients and prospects will remember. A boring card can either be thrown away later or kept deep in your client's drawer, while a card with an impressive design will always be remembered. If the card represents you well, you and your product might be the first to come to mind should a client needs to purchase.

There are professional designers to help you make an impressive business card. You can choose from a lot of pre-maid templates or tell them what you want and they can customize it to suit your product or company. Give out a perfect image to your clients , customers and prospective buyers and you'll see your sales increase and your businesses thrive.

Young, Ambitious and Determined

My cousin, who graduated a couple of years ago is now one of the best US Business Lawyers in the law firm where she works for. Even when she was young, we knew she'd go far. She's not just bright but she's a hard worker.  Another trait that we all love about her is her determination.  Melissa is the first lawyer in the family.  She graduated a cum laude and we are all so proud of her.

I still remember the last time I attended a costume party. It was last year's Halloween party at my friends. The hostess' school girl costume was the greatest hit. She used to be conservative but the sexy costume revealed a new woman. We never thought she was that sexy because she was always covered, haha. Well anyway, her suitors started pouring with her new image. That's probably the purpose. ;)

Wear Shades!

Too much exposure to UV rays causes the lenses to become thicker and more opaque. This raises our risk of glaucoma, macular degeneration and cataracts. Wear shades even during winter because snow and ice reflect the rays, upping exposure. Wrap around shades is a great idea because they block the light best.

Quick Cure For Bad Breath

Eating a handful of garlic peanuts can leave your breath with the ugly smell for hours, and gum and mints are not helping to mask the odor.  The fix?  Yogurt!  A recent Japanese study found that the active bacteria in yogurt reduce the noxious sulfur compounds in the mouth that cause bad breath, plaque and gingivitis by 62 percent.

Cheerful and Bright

My son and I had a scheduled visit to the dentist yesterday.  When we arrived at the clinic, I was surprised to see Sharon, my dentist's assistant, wearing a cute, flower-patterned scrub.  I commented that I found her uniform cheerful.  She thanked me and said that even the doctors are wearing Dickies Scrubs.  True enough, when it was our turn, we saw the two doctors wearing paisley scrubs.  I even teased my doc that she looked more beautiful in her new scrubs and she was all smiles during the session.

It was the first time I have seen these beautifully colored scrubs, but they certainly created a cheerful ambiance.  The plain navy blue scrubs they used to wear kind of made the clinic a little gloomy.  The bright and cheerful environment made me, my son, and all the other patients leave the clinic with a happy smile.  Imagine if all the hospitals will wear the same scrubs.  Recovery will be fast, I'm sure.

She is now a nurse!

My cousin is now a certified nurse.  She just passed the board exam and is now applying for work.  She already sent her resume to several hospitals here and two hospitals have responded already.  Although she wanted to work abroad to be with her mom, she was told that it would be best to wait for at least a couple of years to get more hospital working experience.  And that's exactly what she is going to do.

Young, pretty, determined and so full of hope, we all can't wait to see her wearing brightly colored nurses scrubs.   She has always dreamed of becoming a nurse when she was little.  And now that she is, I can see that she's is going to be a good one.  We are all so proud of her, but of course, her mom was the proudest when she came home during my cousin's graduation rites.

Sleep Faster With Carbs

 Chicken and Avocado sandwich

Can't sleep?  End your day with carbs.  People who ate a bedtime snack of bread or warm buttered jasmine rice fell asleep faster -- within 9 to 20 minutes of hitting the sheets -- and slept more soundly than those who didn't eat.  Carbs boost the production of serotonin and melatonin, researchers say.  These are the neurotranmitters that induce drowsiness.

A Garmin Chirp In The Package

Am I the only one who doesn't know what a Garmin chirp is?  When my brother sent me a package, he accidentally put this little gadget in the box.  I asked him what it was for and explained that he was going to connect it to his gprs.  He asked me to try if it would work with mine.  It didn't so I'm sending it back to him.  I wonder when it would be introduced here.  From what I understand, it works to transmit a name or a small amount of data, just like a bluetooth would.  Am I right?

Seo Dallas Placed Her In The Cyber Map

Grabbing attention to your website seems to be a daunting task. That's how my friend in Dallas felt when she first put up her company's site. She is in the services business and she thought that a website would help her business grow. With so many competitors, she needs all the advertising she can get. Awareness is the key and only seo Dallas can help put her business on the cyber map. It's like the Yellow Pages of the world wide web. It really is a no-brainer. It can easily create a niche for you. Business has been brisk and she's expanding her business. She'll be offering franchising by the end of the year.

Mellow Yellow Monday #108

That's my niece, Diana, and my son, Joey, laughing over something funny another cousin was telling them.  I can't remember what it was all about but I was laughing too while taking the photo.
