Ornamental Plantain

Please click photos to enlarge.

I was immediately attracted to this plant when i first saw it and i am guessing this is an ornamental plantain.

The fruits are very tough you'll break a tooth if you even try to bite it.

The next day, I was surprised when they started to open (or peel!).

It's unique and pretty!

We eat this kind of banana in my hometown in the Philippines. Some cook it some they eat it when it is ripe. ^_^
