The Gift of Sauces

If you are the primary chef in your family, if you live and dine alone or frequently entertain, there's a chance that your repertoire of recipes has become a little mundane. It's generally quicker and easier to prepare old stand-bys than to experiment with something new. If you want to take the easy path to diversification of your recipes, browse through the variety of sauces that are available at places such as Hot Sauce mall. You can wake up a recipe and those who dine with you by adding a hotter than hot or a milder type of flavorful sauce to your standard recipe. Just be sure you know the heat level those eating with you can handle. You can use the chart that is conveniently provided to determine how hot each specific sauce is.

A fancy bottle of hot sauce, a jar of marinade or some seasoning blends make a great gift for anyone on your gift list who enjoys cooking. Pre-packaged gift sets are an excellent hostess gift or special occasion gift. It's always fun to find the one sauce that provides the true test for someone who brags that there's not a sauce too hot for them.

For a cook on a budget, the addition of a flavorful sauce can take a mundane, frugal meal to an entirely new level. The person preparing the meal can control how liberal to be with the sauce. Spices and sauces can wake up a meal without denting the food budget.

Review: THERA°PEARL Knee Wrap

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

My husband has a bad knee. Actually both knees are bad from playing football during his younger years, but it's his left knee that suffered more trauma. Several years ago, there was fluid buildup in that knee and it was removed to reduce the pain and stiffness. It did reduce the pain but sadly, it didn't go away. I guess it's something he has to live with because of his injuries. He finds it difficult to walk when there is pain and this happens often when the weather is cold. It's because of this that I decided to apply for the THERA°PEARL Knee Wrap review. This hot and cold knee wrap would definitely relieve him from pain.

It's impressive that it can be used for both cold and hot therapy and as you can see in the photo, it has a large opening that sits over your kneecap so the user can still move freely. It comes with a flexible Velcro strap to keep the wrap comfortably in place even during a workout. Simply put it in the fridge or freezer for two hours if you want it cold or pop it in the microwave for one minute for penetrating heat. The wrap holds its therapeutic temperature for a full 20 minutes so you get fast, effective relief. As soon as my husband put it on his left knee, the throbbing subsided and after just a few minutes he felt better.

Both my husband and I like that it works fast and is not messy at all unlike other remedies. It's soft, comfortable to use and easy to clean. You can simply wash it with soap and water, wipe it dry and keep it. I highly recommend this hot and cold knee wrap to anyone who suffers from aches and pain. You can kiss those frozen peas, ice packs or hot towels goodbye, this pack is what you need to keep the pain away.

For detailed information about THERA°PEARL Knee Wrap you can click on the links below:

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Beyond the Tree: How to Use Christmas Ornaments for More

Most of us love to decorate our Christmas tree with ornaments and a beautifully decorated tree is understandably a focal point in the home during the festive period.

There are so many beautiful and unusual ornaments available it sometimes seems a shame to restrict their use to just the Christmas tree so why not look beyond the tree and consider some of these alternative ideas and uses for your ornaments.

Chandelier

Why not create a highly whimsical chandelier using ornaments that you already have in your collection and maybe searching out some new ones from christmasornaments.com/decorative-glass-balls-c304.

You will need to gather about sixteen individual ornaments and fix an eye-hook to the ceiling so that you have somewhere to hang your creation from. Tie a couple of ribbons which are about 3 foot long to the hook and attach two of the glass balls at each end by tying a knot.

Cut four more ribbons and which a couple of inches shorter than the first ones and tie them to the eye-hook so that they form a surround around the center balls. Continue to build-up your chandelier using about sixteen glass balls in total and then use a re-usable adhesive to secure them all together and there you have a highly decorative chandelier and a real talking point in the room.

Add sparkle to your window

Another great alternative use for ornaments is to create a window-hanging display fashioned from your personal choice of glass balls and joined together by ribbon which you can attach to the curtain rod.

If you have enough glass balls spare after you have decorated your tree, you might want to repeat the pattern across the width of the window to create a highly unique and decorative festive curtain.

Table decoration

If you are looking for something more festive than the fruit bowl on the dining table then why fill the bowl with decorative glass balls to bring the sparkle of Christmas from the tree to the table.

You could alternative use a cake platter if you prefer but whichever you choose, it is a good way of using your decorations and creating a theme that flows through the house.

Wreath

Many of us like to hang a wreath on the front door so why not jazz it up a bit this year by adding some glass balls to the decoration or if you prefer, you could hang a glass ball or two from a ribbon which is tied to the door handle or hanging somewhere on the porch.

Vases

If you have some spare vases around then another perfect use for some decorative glass balls is to fill the vases with the decorations and then place them around the home to create that extra bit of Christmas sparkle. You could also use some glass balls to add to your candle decoration at the base or maybe even fill a cookie jar up with them in the kitchen and have it on your table through the festive period.

Christmas ornaments are so much fun and when you start to be creative, they have so many decorative uses beyond the tree. Susan Forlong loves the festive season. An interior designer by trade, she enjoys spreading the cheer through blogging.

Age-Defying Makeup Tricks

When it comes to looking younger, your makeup can be your best ally or your worst enemy. Here are some tips and tricks to follow to make sure you don't add years to your look.

Don't Apply Makeup To Bare Skin

Skin that is not moisturized can easily show those wrinkles and lines on your face. Rehydrate skin first by applying moisturizer to make skin look plump and temporarily smooth wrinkles before you begin putting on makeup.

Don't Use Thick Concealers

Using a heavy hand to cover up dark circles may actually enhance lines especially if you use a thick and heavy formula, which can dry out as the day goes on. Opt for a lightweight concealer from the inner corner to the middle of your eye, then lightly dab foundation, which is less likely to sit in wrinkles, under your outer eye.

To blur the appearance of deep lines on your forehead and around your nose and mouth, makeup experts recommend using a small brush to apply light-reflecting concealer directly onto the creases. Blend the concealer out to diffuse its appearance.

Don't Wear Mascara On Your lower Lashes

Applying black mascara on the lower lashes can visibly enhance wrinkles. Focus up and away from the area instead by curling your top lashes and applying two coats of the blackest black mascara. You can, however, apply color to lower lashes provided you use softer shades like brown, and comb through the lashes with a lash separator for a clump-free, natural look.

Avoid Using Thick Foundations

Heavy foundations have drying ingredients, that can sink into fine lines, thereby making them look bigger. A lighter foundation on the other hand can create a smooth canvas and won't settle into the lines.

Always Use A Lip Liner

It will keep lipstick from bleeding into fine lip lines. Choose a clear, waterproof liner and use it to line the outer edge of your lips. To make your lips even more beautiful, dust a bit of powder over it so it'll set perfectly.

Avoid Using Matte lipstick

While matte looks simpler, they tend to be thicker and make your lips look dry. Dry looking lips can make lines appear deeper and more obvious.

Botox Is Here To Help You Take Years Off Your Look

We’ve all heard the saying “nobody’s perfect.”Even if we still think of ourselves as good-looking, there always room for improvement. That’s where Botox comes in. As we get older our skin becomes less elastic, and our cheeks start to sink. It’s frustrating – why can’t we look exactly like we want to?These days, thanks to Botox, there is no reason why we can’t all have the youthful skin of our dreams.

Having an experienced professional help you with your Botox procedure is very important. A trained professional knows where to give the injection, and how much Botox to use to achieve the results that you want. But it’s important to remember that Botox alone cannot fix everything. There are lots of little things that can be done to make a person feel and look amazing.

Most people don’t know that Botox is not the only filler that is on the market today. The clinic also carries Juvederm fillers, which are similar to Botox treatments. The one that’s right for you depends on your skin and what your doctor recommends. At the Skin Vitality Medical Clinicthey don’t believe that one size fits all. Every procedure that you have done is designed with you and for you, so that you can get exactly the results that you desire.

They have skin tightening and ReFirme treatments. These help to promote collagen growth that will help to remodel your skin’s dermal layer. Simply put, it puts the bounce back into your skin. The ReFirm process also tightens up the skin. This is especially useful on turkey neck, jowls and saggy eyelids and brow lines. It’s not anyone’s fault that our skin begins to sag as we grow older, but now we have the power to do something about it.

Another great procedure that they offer is called Venus Freeze Facial and Body Contouring. This is a non-invasive, non-surgical procedure that smoothes the skin, wiping away years of wrinkles, removing bags and saggy pouches, and even reducing cellulite. If that sounds like a miracle, that’s because it is! But it’s also real. You’ve always known that you were youthful at heart, but now, with the help of these treatments, you can look like it too.

The Skin Vitality Medical Clinic has so many useful procedures for helping you look and feel your best that I could spend all day talking about them. They offer laser hair removal, Fraxel skin resurfacing, acne treatments and so many more. It is truly amazing how far the field of cosmetic surgery and medicine has come. We really can have the perfect face and body – or at least, the one we feel is perfect for us. After all, in the end, it’s what we think of ourselves that really matters.

Problem Blotchy Skin

Is your skin marred by dark spots? These blotches are usually caused by the combination of hormone fluctuations from birth control or pregnancy and sun exposure. Another cause of dark spots is if your skin undergoes any trauma (pimples, cuts, a rash, scrapes or bruises), skin affected by these can become discolored because the body increases pigment production in an injured area.

Dead skin cells, on the other hand are what causes dark spots on elbows and knees. Layers of dead skin cells build up causing skin on knees and elbows to darken. For the underarm area, dark patches may be caused by friction, or by irritation from shaving or waxing.

How to treat these blotches?

If you think the spots are caused by dead skin cells buildup, exfoliation is the key to get rid of them. Gently scrub the area with a good exfoliant to eliminate dead skin cells. A skin cream that contains urea and a low percentage of glycolic acid is your answer for darkened underarms. For the face, use a cream that contains retinol. This helps turn over skin cells and can help reverse small signs of sun damage.

To prevent dark spots from recurring, ALWAYS use sun protection when going out. A sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher will help maintain an even skin tone because it will prevent sunlight from triggering more melanin production. And to prevent doing more harm to the skin if you have problems such as acne, cuts, or bruises; it’s best to keep your hands away. DON’T RUB, DON’T TOUCH, DON’T SCRATCH, DON’T SQUEEZE, DON’T PICK. Doing so will only traumatize the skin even more.

Healthy Lifestyle and Healthy Food Choices

Eating healthy is a priority for many people and incorporating vegetarian recipes into a meal plan is one way of achieving that goal. Food that is vegetable based is generally free from animal and dairy products, saturated and Trans fats, and cholesterol and is gentler with the digestive system for most people.

Opting for healthy proteins is made easier with specially made foods created to promote a healthy lifestyle. The food is plant based and as the need for food continues to grow; such food will become a main staple in the global food procurement solution.

Foods made from vegetables, pea protein, soy, wheat and ancient grains are becoming a popular food choice as they are easy to digest, as well as being an excellent source of fiber. To keep the food interesting and appetizing they can be prepared on the grill, in the oven or on the stove topped, just like the favorite, stand by meals. The specially made food delivers real meat texture, taste and nutrition, but without cholesterol, fats and calories.

The specialty, protein based foods are flavored with spices and flavors that are vegetable based, keeping the food interesting and giving it variety. Any additional ingredients in the production of protein rich, vegetable based foods will always be organic to help keep the final product natural, and, of course, healthy.

A healthy lifestyle and healthy food choices bring with it a variety of health related benefits including lower cholesterol, blood sugar and blood pressure. There are health benefits to consuming less animal products and better proteins.

Ways for Seniors to Lose Weight

Maintaining a healthy weight is an important part of everyone's life. More and more information has become available to show just how devastating that obesity is on the body. This information has lead many people to begin to live a more active lifestyle to try and actively lengthen and improve their lives.

For senior citizens, it is often not as easy to get up and get active. They can be dealing with medical health issues, or even a lack of motivation due to things like joint pain. However, there are ways for seniors to get out and get healthy without making themselves uncomfortable.

Water aerobics classes are a great way for seniors to lose weight. Because of the water, it is considerably gentler on joints while still allowing for the same cardiovascular workout. It is also a way for seniors to meet other like-minded seniors. That sense of community can help them to stick with their workout routine.

The simplest way to lose weight for seniors is just by walking. A thirty minute walk each day is equal to how much exercise that national agencies suggest that people of all ages get. If they are unable to walk for thirty minutes, it can be broken down into three 10 minute walks each day.

When walking, it is important to have comfortable shoes for walking. A good pair of walking shoes will support the back and help lessen the chances of injury or joint pain.

How to Deal with Neck Pain

Whether you have damaged your neck during a physical activity, automobile accident, or are suffering from chronic neck pain, there are a variety of treatment options that can help to improve your neck mobility and restore your quality of living. There are a variety of common ways to treat neck pain in Medford, OR, including the following:

• Pain medication and traditional treatment options
• Massage therapy
• Physical therapy
• Chiropractic care
• Homeopathic solutions

Applying Heat and Cold

Applying heat and pressure to the neck can help to provide quick pain relief. Your local pharmacy can provide a heating pad that you can use for 15-20 minutes at a time. In some cases, it can also be beneficial to apply ice for the first 24-48 hours following an injury. Your doctor or physical therapist can recommend whether you should be applying ice or heat and how frequently.

Neck Stretches and Exercises

Certain neck stretches and exercises can be extremely effective at treating a current problem and preventing a future issue. It is usually most beneficial to perform these stretches after a warm bath or shower.

Your doctor, chiropractor, or physical therapist can provide you with stretching techniques and routine exercise plans that you can complete from home to further the healing process. They can even recommend how you can change your posture and daily habits to provide quick relief to your neck and shoulders.

Professional Massages

Professional massages can help to deal with any areas of the body, including the neck, which may be causing you pain or discomfort. Be sure to let your masseuse know exactly what areas are bothering you so that they can provide the best services possible.

You don't always need to have a professional massage to enjoy the benefits of a massage. If your significant other cannot massage you, you can always give your neck a quick rubdown on your own. While this won’t provide exactly the same effects as a professional masseuse would, it can still help to quickly relieve the pain. Don't wait any longer to contact a physician about your neck pain in Medford, OR.

"Catch-Up" sleep drains your energy

Although lack of sleep is a proven fatigue trigger, research shows that disrupting your normal sleep cycle - by occasionally sleeping late or going to bed early - can sap your energy just as dramatically. These inconsistent sleep times can interfere with your body's ability to produce the sleep hormone melatonin, making the sleep you do get less restorative.

To fight fatigue, it's best to try to keep your bedtime and wake-up time as consistent as possible. Yup, even on weekends! If your body is still craving for that extra shut-eye, opt for a 2- to 40 minute afternoon nap instead of extending your nighttime rest. Studies show that people who erase sleep debt with naps have better nighttime melatonin production, plus they feel more energetic than those who turn in earlier or hit the snooze button in the morning.

5 benefits of cosmetic surgery

Ask any person and no doubt there is something on their body that they would love to change. Whether it be to lift saggy breasts, reduce the appearance of cellulite, have fuller lips or align their nose after it was broken. In the past, changing a person’s physical appearance seemed like an unattainable goal, however with fast paced technological advancements, people are making these dreams a reality. Cosmetic surgery is now available to everyone and while most think that it’s just to make people more beautiful, there are also many medical advantages. There is a stigma that it’s best to be content with what you are given, but who’s to say it’s wrong to rely on technology for an issue that may be affecting your confidence. Here are just some of the benefits of investing in cosmetic surgery.

Improves physical appearance

This is by far the most obvious benefit that you can have by investing in cosmetic surgery treatment. The results of the surgery is obvious not only the eye of the beholder but the people around them. Studies noted that cosmetic surgery for women is usually more focused around the breasts and smaller parts of their face like the eyes, nose, lips and cheeks. Whereas men, tend to undergo more major surgeries like reproductive organ enlargement to enhance their masculinity.

Improves Self Esteem

Most people would agree that we live in a superficial world where someone who may have a facial defect gets singled out by their peers. The person begins to resent the defect and their perception of themselves becomes very low. In circumstances like this, cosmetic surgery brings light and hope to the darkness they are facing and helps them to become brave in professional and social situations. Cosmetic surgeons have also noted that pre-screening, their clients were suffering major bouts of depression or other mental health issues, and once the surgery and healing was completed, they were more confident, satisfied and most of their prior mental issues had been alleviated.

Leads to a healthier lifestyle

Sometimes people just need that little push to get going. They may have tried every type of lotion, potion, pill and diet on the market and nothing seems to work. In cases like this, liposuction and other weight reducing surgeries allow the person to live a healthy and fit life once again. Weight reduction surgeries also have a myriad of health benefits including a lower risk of heart attacks, strokes and diabetes.

Safer than ever

One of the reason people avoid cosmetic surgeries is because of the horror stories that they’ve heard – most of which happens overseas. Despite what’s been discussed in the media, cosmetic procedures, while they all naturally come with risks, are safer than ever. As this kind of surgery has become increasingly popular over the years, there is a multitude of specialist programs that are catered to properly educate surgeons in the art of cosmetic operations.
Have you ever been under the knife for a cosmetic procedure? How did your confidence improve? Tell us your story in the comments below.

A Look Into Lessons Learned on Honey Boo Boo

Here Comes Honey Boo Boo is a reality television series that is outrageous and entertaining, but that can also have its sweet and heartfelt moments. It follows the bouncy child beauty pageant contestant Alana Thompson, who is also known as Honey Boo Boo, and her mother, "Mama June," as they go about their lives in McIntyre, Georgia with the rest of their family.

No matter what your opinion is in Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, Mama June does have some simple, down-to-earth life lessons that she gave in interviews for Yahoo! Shine and Huffington Post that we could all learn a little something from.

1) It doesn't matter what others think of you

Mama June makes it clear that she doesn't think we should care what others think of us. She is particularly concerned about instilling this lesson on to her daughters, stating that they shouldn't "care what anybody says about you and always be confident with who you are."

2) Put family first

Mama June considers her children to be the number one source of her happiness. Whatever makes them happy makes her happy, she says, and admits that without them she would be "lost." She has only some simple wishes of her family - that they have what they need and are able to smile every day.

3) Learn to let things go

Pointing out something that we could all benefit from, Mama June says that she lives by the phrase "It is what it is." Bad things happen, but it is important to learn to let them go and move on.

4) Some advice on love

Mama June doesn't want her girls to base their self-worth on being able to find and keep a man. She insists that they keep the focus on themselves, and has only given their hearts to someone who treats them well.

5) The importance of an education

Along with not wasting time worrying about boys and finding love at a young age, Mama June says that she would tell her 20-year-old self to focus more on getting an education and striving for a stable life. Taking care of yourself first, according to Mama June, is key.

And finally, everyone's favorite life lesson from Mama June is…

6) Saving money is better than sex

As most people who watch the show know, Mama June is big on couponing. Saving money, she says, "can sometimes be better than sex."

To continue receiving life lessons from Mama June when the second season of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo has begun, just head over to www.directtvdeal.com/direct-tv-deal.html to get a deal on a satellite dish TV that will let you watch or record new episodes.

Mama June might seem like your stereotypical "redneck," but there's no denying that she can't and won't be pigeonholed into any categories. She is who she is, and you can take it or leave. She loves her family, clearly wants to raise her daughter's right, and hopes to instill some important life lessons on to them along the way.

Teaching Children Biblical Values

Many people believe in teaching children biblical values. One way to do this is to use curriculum designed specifically for reaching young people at their level. The right material increases the chance that they will remember the lessons they learned. Usually, it requires an illustrated approach that incorporates pictures and video. However, the right explanation accompanying each multimedia production normally enhances all visual courses.

For instance, some resources provide stories featuring important biblical leaders who faced a wide variety of challenges. Though each trial people in the Bible encountered, kids can learn a lesson that could help them in their daily lives. Of course, key persons from the Bible did not always do everything that God told them to do. In fact, many of the famous people such as Moses, King David, King Solomon, Jacob, Esau or Elizabeth made mistakes.

Still, written accounts of all the men and women of God in the Bible seem to still influence people today. Even if children do not follow everything they learn from the illustrated biblical lessons presented to them, it more than likely does have an impact. It might take time for all lectures to sink into their brains, but learning as much as possible now prepares them for the future. In any case, the main objective when teaching children is to teach them basic principles. For instance, it helps to tell them to love one another, be kind to each other, and be honest to people.

However, raising up children to be strong and confident in their beliefs taught while young requires parental involvement. When parents become involved in their children’s lives, they seem to have a greater chance of showing their little ones that they really do care. Even if kids do not fully understand all their parents try to tell them right now, it at least starts them out on a more solid path. However, the method of training used will determine how well they will use what the lessons teach them.

One way to show kids how to live is to use the training introduced in the Ed Young Jr Slideshare. The ElevateAtHome program offers programs to preschoolers and children ages six to twelve. Most courses include interactive lessons, challenging worksheets and coloring pages. Furthermore, each lesson provides a chance for both children and parents to spend quality time together during the educational process.

When this happens, youngsters learn important principles and useful facts that could help them much later in life. However, they also seem to have quite a bit of fun in the process when using this particular material. It is this enjoyment that keeps their attention and causes learning to feel less like work. When they enjoy learning, they more than likely will remember more of the material presented to them.

Of course, one other key will help children retain more of what is taught to them: relevance. They more than likely will open their minds up to curriculum that shows them how to apply lessons to their own lives. Interactive lessons presented to them will usually accomplish this much more than just feeding them pages of text.

Boost Self Esteem in Seconds

Not feeling confident at all? Try this trick. Using your index fingertips, make clockwise circles on the point between your eyebrows at the center of your brow bone. According to experts, stimulating this spot triggers  endorphins release and opens the "third eye" chakra, known as the perception center, which bolsters self-esteem, self-compassion and inner peace.

High Temperature Adhesive

I've known the epoxy brand since I was young. In fact, it's the only brand of glue (except for Elmer's) I knew while I was growing up. When something is broken that needs to be fixed, dad would get his 2 tubes of epoxy glue, mix it together and bond the broken pieces. It's nice to know that dad's favorite adhesive has different variations. Aside from the multi-purpose glue that I used to know, they now have high temperature adhesive, electrically conductive, thermally conductive, medical grade, fast cure etc. How about you? Have you known this brand since you were a kid?

Review: Wiley's Finest Wild Alaskan Fish Oil

I was recently given the opportunity to review Wiley's Finest Wild Alaskan Fish Oil. I got one bottle of the easy swallow minis. Minis because the softgels are 55% smaller than 1000 mg strength fish oil, but have 30% more Omega 3s per softgels. Two softgels are taken daily with food and there are 60 softgels in each bottle to supply your needs for 1 month. Each serving (2 mini gels) contains 630 mg of EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), essential fatty acids found in cold water fish.

Now, what do these fatty acids do to our body? It supplies us with vitamins that enable our heart and blood system to function well. These Omega 3 fatty acids are also know to help reduce the risk of stroke and heart disease. But wait, the great benefits don't stop there. Fish oil supplements help bring blood pressure down, lower cholesterol, improve asthma, relieve you from rheumatoid arthritis pains, keep your mind sharp and hydrate skin. the oil is also known to aid in weight loss because it boosts metabolism.

I have been taking the supplement for more than a week now and although I have no heart troubles whatsoever and my cholesterol count is normal, I noticed a great difference on my weight. I lost a few pounds which didn't happen in the past even if I am regularly working out. And my skin is less dry since I took the soft gels. I have never tried taking fish supplements before and I think after this, I will continue to take it because I like the results. It's a great supp and I would recommend it anyone who wants to protect their heart from future problems or anyone who simply wants to be healthy. Sure, you can get the omega 3s from eating fish but it's not everyday you eat fish, right? Taking the supplement is convenient plus, you can be sure you get your daily dose of good fatty acids.

The Wild Alaskan Fish Oil was packed in a small box. I also found an eco-friendly pen and cute cardboard ref magnet inside the box. It only took a few days after it was shipped considering that it came from the US and I live in the Philippines.

Wiley's Finest is a family owned business and they have been manufacturing dietary supplements for over 20 years. The oils are exclusively sourced from Alaskan Pollock and Pacific Whiting, solely caught from US waters and packed in glass bottles. Recycled paper and cardboard were used for packaging. Alaskan Fish Oil can be ordered online at www.wileysfinest.com or call 1.855.514.4088. It's also available at GNC stores in the Philippines.
