5 Easy Ways To Keep Your Heart Healthy

1) Ward off danger with good fish fats. The heart-protective benefits of omega3 fatty acids in fatty fish -- salmon, tuna, sardines, mackerel and the like -- are so powerful, women who consumed five or more servings a week are 45 % less likely to die of heart disease than those who eat less than one serving a month.

2) Drink lots of water to avoid blood clots. Down at least five 8 oz. glasses of water daily and your chances of having a fatal heart attack will be 50 % less than if you drink less than 2 glasses a day, reveals a recent study. Water thins the blood, resulting in a decreased risk of harmful blood clots.

3) Quit smoking. Puffing even one cigarette a day triples your risk of heart disease by damaging arteries and speeding the buildup of cholesterol and plaque.

4) Strengthen your heart with romance. Making love a few times a week exercises your heart muscle (and his), resulting in increased protection and slashing your heart disease risk by 50 %.

5) Think positive. A Harvard study recently undertaken reveals that upbeat people are 50 % less likely to have heart disease than their gloomier counterpart. That's because their bodies produce far fewer artery-damaging stress hormones.

My Queen and I just got back from establishing a new primary doctor so that we could be treated by the same physician. And during our initial consultation, he outlined the very plan included in your post. How's that for being right on?

Happy trails.
