It was a Beautiful Wedding

While at the mall this afternoon with the whole family, we passed by an area where there was a wedding exhibit. I can't help myself but look at their gorgeous wedding collections. Everything looks different now and expensive.

Every woman dreams of a beautiful and memorable wedding. I had a perfect wedding 26 years ago and reminiscing that beautiful day always bring a smile. We didn't have a wedding planner. Back in those days wedding planners are not very popular. It was only me, my mom and my mom in law who planned everything.

Jusi fabric was used for my wedding gown. The Callado design was delicately hand-sewn by an old lady from Las Pinas. My gown was very simple, but it was elegant. I had the Blusher for a wedding veil, the sheer veil covered my face and the back looked like a big bow. The Maid of Honor, the bridesmaid and the flower girl also wore a Jusi gown. All the men, including my husband wore a Pina Barong Tagalog. The Barongs were also hand-sewn.

Mom and MIL chose Pomelo flowers, peach roses and Sampaguita for our wedding flowers. The Pomelo flowers were used for my bouquet while the peach roses and Sampaguita flowers were used to decorate the church and the reception. Thousands of roses and hundreds of thousands of Sampaguitas were used to embellish the church and the wedding venue. The flowers were so pretty that I remember the guests brought home the pots of flowers after the wedding.

Planning that wedding was not easy, especially that we didn't get help from the wedding experts, but the three of us were able to pull it off and I had an unforgettable wedding. And to think that we did all that in a span of three months.
