Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
Have you heard of Yacon? It's a perennial plant and the root or fruit looks like a small yam. Some say it looks like a potato because of its brown skin, but longer. The flesh is white like a turnip. It also tastes like it, but Yacon is juicier and sweeter. I've heard of this before and that it's good for diabetics and dieters. My dad is diabetic and he's tried snacking on Yacon, but eventually stopped because it was not always available in the markets. Today, I am reviewing the syrup. We've never tried it before, so let's see if the family will like it.
PRODUCT DETAILS
My Thoughts
It's definitely sweet and would make a great substitute for sugar and other low calorie sweeteners. The consistency of the syrup is thick like honey. And because it's very sweet, you only need a little to add to your food or drink. Although this is intended for our dad, my SIL and I wanted to have a taste of this wonder syrup. The taste is pleasant and I like it.
Pros
It's low in calories and the syrup is sourced from naturally grown organic Yacon fields in the country of Peru. Only the HIGHEST quality Yacon plant was used to make a premium pure syrup formula.
Cons
None except that it's a tad pricey. But considering the many health benefits of the Yacon root, then I'd say it's worth it.
Recommendation
It's great for people who suffer from diabetes and for those who are dieting. Buy it now on Amazon for $18.97.
