Do-it-yourself Decaf

There is no doubt that drinking green tea does a body good, but having five or more cups a day can give you the jitters. Too many may pump your body with enough caffeine to induce it. But wait, I'm not saying you lessen your intake, you can still enjoy it as much as you can and still benefit from its disease-fighting antioxidants. How? Make it decaf. Steep the tea for 30 seconds, then dump out the water (along with the caffeine). Pour in new water and steep for three to four minutes more , then sip and enjoy. You'll eliminate 90% of caffeine, yet still benefit from it.

I am a coffee drinker and once in awhile I will try some strong tea. I drink a tea from a friend who is part Mohawk here in the Adirondack Mountains(Up-State,NY). The tea leaves come from a bush that she calls,'Go-a-round';please don't ask me what that means. . . . . Is is 17.6 degrees outside my cabin this morning.

Thank you for the tip, it's something I would never have thought about in a million years.
I've gotten the jitters from green tea myself. But I sure got a lot of housework done that day!

Nice techinque!! But doesn't that take much of the flavor away?

Just wondering. Still, that was a smart technique.
